We will enjoy the Paula Deen Tour while in Savannah. Paula's "Rags to Riches" story will both inspire and entertain us! We will take a peek into the life of famous southern cooking entrepreneur Paula Deen. Visit shops that Paula frequented, and still showcases, on her way to establishing one of the most popular restaurants in Savannah, The Lady and Sons. Get to know Paula like Savannah knows Paula and sample some of the low country's best at her new restaurant - Uncle Bubba's Oyster House. The tour includes a few surprises and is sure to give you an appetite for more of the "Good Ole South" and Paula Deen. It will also take us through the historic district and to the southside of Savannah where she started out.
Uncle Bubba's Oyster House, named after Paula's brother, offers the best and freshest seafood in the coastal low country, and your taste buds will agree! Uncle Bubba's is seated right on the scenic marsh of one of Savannah's islands and offers a fun and casual dining atmosphere. Their signature dish, char-grilled oysters, is something you won't want to miss!
Another day we will depart on the Historic Savannah Tour. We will experience over 270 years of rich history in just 90 minutes. This comprehensive tour covers much of Savannah's beautiful historic district, including our lovely historic squares, River Street, and City Market. The highlight of this tour will be lunch at Paula's landmark restaurant, The Lady & Sons. It’s humble beginnings were back in June 1989 when Paula started The Bag Lady out of her home. Since then, it has grown into a world-renowned restaurant and full service catering venue. In December 1999, The Lady & Sons was named "International Meal of the Year" by USA Today. Today, the restaurant seats nearly 330 people and serves thousands of tourists and locals each week. If you're looking for a true taste of the South, look no further than The Lady & Sons!
Our farewell dinner will be aboard the Savannah Riverboat. This dining cruise includes dinner, live entertainment, and an unforgettable view of Savannah. We will enjoy some of our favorite dishes. From our carving table, prime rib is prepared using an old family recipe. We also feature boneless breast of chicken florentine, and Savannah's best crab cakes. Make sure you save room for one of our delicious "southern" desserts. After dinner, dance to tunes from the 50's to the 80's played by one of the riverboat entertainers.
